Softball coach accused of sexual relationship with teen
MOORE, Okla. – A softball coach is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Ryan Knight, 23, faces charges of second-degree rape and lewd molestation.
According to Moore Police, the girl’s parents contacted them after the mother found out about the relationship.
Sgt. Jeremy Lewis told News Channel 4 that the mother caught her daughter in bed with Knight.
“It is concerning that you trust someone with your kids and something like this happens,” Sgt. Lewis said.
According to an affidavit, the victim told investigators Knight was helping her with softball and the relationship turned sexual.
A detective claims Knight was offered the opportunity to tell his side of the story but he never showed up for a scheduled interview and did not return phone calls.
As of Thursday, Knight was not in custody.
Sgt. Lewis said officers are searching for him and will eventually arrest him.
