Night drivers tackle re-freezing
OKLAHOMA CITY — The snow made driving dangerous Tuesday but roads could take a turn for the worst over night.
Drivers were battling the wind and now more ice could come into play as slush on the roads freezes as temperatures drop.
While snow plows made most lines visible on the highways, drivers say other roads were covered in a sheet of ice and snow causing Tarek Samara to slide.
“The car just swerved when I was turning left. The breaks couldn’t hold it,” said Samara.
A veteran trucker, blustering wind still caused Navi Singh to park for the night.
‘It is icy. The truck was slipping. It’s just bad. It’s icy weather so the wind makes it freeze,” said Singh.
Even ambulances had to slow down as they traveled on snow and ice left behind from the storm.
After braving the roads, drivers out there all had the same advice.
“Stay at home right now,” said Samara.
Cars were stalled and wrecked out on the side of the road. Police put a yellow tag on the cars they have already checked.
