OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several families are left homeless after an early morning fire at an apartment complex.

The fire sparked about 3 a.m. at the Mayfair Gardens Apartments in the 5000 block of North Steanson Drive, near NW 50th and May.

According to firefighters on the scene, four units were affected.

Crews say the fire started in the breezeway.

Six people are affected.

Firefighters were alerted to the fire when a neighbor called 911.

Crews say the neighbor's husband alerted residents when he went door-to-door awakening victims.

Thanks to the quick work of that good Samaritan there were no injuries reported.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department is investigating the fire.
