Rollover puts one man in the hospital
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Highway Patrol has had a busy week working several accidents on Oklahoma highways. The latest is from I-44 and the Hefner Parkway.
A man is in the hospital after becoming another statistic and rolling his vehicle on the Lake Hefner Parkway just before 2:00 am Thursday morning.
According to police a man was traveling westbound on I-44 when he turned onto Lake Hefner Parkway at a high rate of speed. The man lost control of the car and rolled several times ejecting the driver.
Police shut down the on ramp leading onto the parkway after the accident. The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
He is expected to recover. Police are investigating to see if alcohol may have played a factor.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol recently released their New Years Eve statistics on their Facebook page.
According to them, from 6:00 pm on Friday, December 28th until midnight last night OHP worked nine fatality accidents and 13 injury collisions where someone as admitted to the hospital.
Eight of those were not wearing their seat belts, two of them were alcohol related and four of them involved excessive speeds.
It’s a reminder why we all need to drive safe and make sure we get from point A to point B safely.
