General Motors recalling 55,000 trucks
General Motors is recalling nearly 55,000 vehicles because they can roll away unexpectedly.
The recall affects a list of vehicles including the Cadillac Escalade, Sierra and Chevy Tahoe or Suburban, Avalanche, Express and GMC Savana and Yukon.
GM officials said the trucks may have been built with faulty park lock cables or malformed steering column lock gears.
They can easily be shifted out of park even if the ignition key is in the off position or removed.
Certified GM dealers will replace the steering column free of charge.
