Man accused of exposing himself at Walmart
DEL CITY, Okla. – A disturbing incident at a metro Walmart leads to the arrest of a 59-year-old Del City man.
A female shopper told police the suspect walked through a clothing department and exposed himself.
Keith Wayne Massey was arrested Monday afternoon at the Del City Walmart for indecent exposure.
In a police affidavit, the officer said the “…(witness) told me she was walking down an isle, near men’s clothing, when she saw the defendant standing with his zipper down on his jeans, and his (genitals) ‘completely out.’”
Del City Major Jody Suit said the female shopper did not approach Massey but did inform security.
Suit said Massey seemed in a hurry as he left the store but a manager followed him and kept him in sight as police arrived to make the arrest in the parking lot.
“When they realize they’re in trouble, that somebody’s going to detain them, they want to get away,” Suit said. “And if they have a weapon on them, you don’t want to be between them and the door.”
Court records show Massey is a registered sex offender, having been convicted of indecent exposure in Tulsa county three times, in 1998, 1999 and 2005.
“It has been my experience that a lot of times they’re repeat offenders,” Suit said. “They’ll just keep going until they’re incarcerated.”
Suit said a felony charge of indecent exposure after former felony conviction would be filed later this week.
Massey is still behind bars at the Oklahoma County jail on a $4,000 bond.
