Kids found following Amber Alert near Wellston
OKLAHOMA CITY – Two young kids are safe and sound after allegedly being abducted by their mother.
Law enforcement in Lincoln County issued an Amber Alert after 7-year-old Kylee Nichols and her little brother, 4-year-old Blake Nichols, went missing from their home.
Authorities said the children were taken by their mother, 30-year-old Misty Hausam, who did not have custody.
The suspect allegedly stole the kids out of their father’s trailer home near Wellston in the middle of the night.
The mother allegedly climbed in through a window and took the kids.
Thursday afternoon police in Oklahoma City tracked down the mother and children.
The suspect’s mom said she was thrilled the kids were alive and well.
“I’m just ecstatic,” grandmother Susan Bullard said. “Thank you, Jesus! My grandkids are found. We’re gonna go hug them and let them know how much we love them. Thank God they’re OK.”
The suspect’s mom said her daughter is a heavy drug user who also suffers a mental illness.
Hausam is behind bars Thursday night.
