SAVANNA, Okla.—The cold temperatures are being blamed for playing a part in a deadly accident in Pittsburg County.

Authorities say 53-year-old Michael Gardner died just before 11 a.m. Sunday morning after trying to fix a brake on his tractor trailer.

The brake had apparently frozen to the wheel because of the cold weather, which forced Gardner to pull over to the side of the road to fix it.

He crawled under the rig, but when the brake released, the truck rolled over him.

It dragged him nearly 70 feet before pinning him to the ground.

He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
