OKLAHOMA CITY -- Monday morning about 11 a.m. Oklahoma City Police spotted a pedestrian who appeared to be in need of help.
The man was bloodied, walking along I-240 near May Ave.
Police said the victim had just escaped an apartment nearby, where he and a small group of adults were being held against their will.
"The victim had been in a relationship, a dating relationship," OKC Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. "Apparently they had split and the female came back with another guy armed with a gun. They went in and held five people in there. They would not let them leave."
The victim led police to the apartment where they arrested 32-year-old Alex Salazar and 25-year-old Jennifer Salinas on five counts each of kidnapping.
Salazar is also a convicted sex offender, serving a suspended sentence for failing to register.
He is facing criminal charges for drugs, weapons and jumping bail.
Salinas has previous convictions for drugs, according to court records.
"It's certainly helpful when the police show up and the suspects are still there and there's a mountain of evidence against the people; it wraps the case up rather quickly," Knight said.
Both suspects are currently in the Oklahoma County Jail.
