Man found hanging from MWC basketball goal
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – A man was found hanging from a Midwest City elementary school outdoor basketball goal Tuesday morning.
According to officials, the Ridgecrest Elementary school principal reported the man in his 20s or 30s around 8 a.m.
They said they cannot find a connection between the man and the school.
Students are being kept away from this part of the building and school is in session.
Extra counselors are at the school for the students, faculty and staff.
Authorities are on scene near N. Air Depot Rd. and E. Reno Ave.
They have not released the man’s identity.
The school sent this statement to parents:
“Good morning parents. There has been a death on the property of Ridgecrest Elementary. The person was not a member of the Ridgecrest staff nor a student. The [sic] does not appear to be related to the school. The Midwest City Police Department is currently investigating. There have been no threats to the safety of students or staff. Students’ schedules will be adjusted to keep all activities and instructional time with in the main building of the school until cleared by the Midwest City Police Department. As always, the students and staff’s safety are our first priority. Thank you.”
