Child talks about near abduction
CHICKASHA, Okla. - An Oklahoma girl shares her terrifying account of nearly being abducted.
She was walking to the school bus stop when a man pulled up beside her and tried to get her inside his truck.
“He said he had a lost puppy and asked me if I could get into the back of the truck and help him find it,” Lakia Hinton said. “I’m not allowed to talk to strangers. I was scared shocked.”
Despite a possible kidnappers plans, little Lakia made it to school that morning and told her teacher what happened.
“He had brown hair and right here it was bald and he had bluish, grayish eyes,” Hinton said.
The school began warning parents including Jason Lane.
“They were calling all parents and letting them know about an incident that had happened that morning and to talk to your kids about it,” he said.
“Somebody wouldn’t just drive up to a kid and say ‘Hey, I lost my puppy could you just jump into the back of my truck and help me find him,’” Hinton said.
Now police are trying to find the suspect who was driving a white truck.
“I don’t let them ride the bus because I’m scared of people who are going crazy in this world,” Lane said.
“It still scares us when a white truck goes by.”
“My sister she sometimes gets the ‘skeevies’,” Hinton said.
Police said the suspect is about 30 years old with brown, mid-length hair and has slender face with hair on his chin.
He was driving a white extended cab truck that is low to the ground with tinted windows.
