Atari files for bankruptcy
NEW YORK—It’s the end of an era as video game maker Atari filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Atari, along with three of its affiliates, filed for bankruptcy protection in a New York City court.
The company was a trailblazer in developing video games in the 70’s and 80’s, including Frogger and Pac Man.
In recent years, Atari focused on smartphone apps and Internet-based games.
