Barbara Walters hospitalized after fall

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A well-known newswoman had to miss the president’s inauguration after falling down a flight of stairs.

Barbara Walters was attending a party for inauguration coverage when she fell down the stairs.

She was rushed to a hospital for observation.

A spokesperson for the hospital says she is awake and alert but could not give an estimate as to when she will be released.
