Former chief justice to be laid to rest
OKLAHOMA CITY—Funeral services have been scheduled as people across the state pay respect to one of Oklahoma’s former Supreme Court Chief Justices.
Retired Justice Ralph B. Hodges will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Putnam City Baptist Church.
Hodges served as Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court from 1977 to 1978 and 1993 to 1994.
He served on the state’s highest court from 1965 until his retirement in 2004.
At the time of his appointment, he was 34-years-old, becoming the youngest Justice to serve on the Court since statehood.
In 1977, he was named Outstanding State Appellate Jurist by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Putnam City Baptist Church is located at 11401 N. Rockwell Ave. in Oklahoma City.
