OKLAHOMA CITY—If you have headed to the gas station lately, you probably noticed a jump in prices within the last week.

Experts from AAA say prices across the state have jumped 14 cents in one week.

The average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $3.19 in Oklahoma City, which is higher than this time last year.

Last year, drivers in the city were paying $3.17 per gallon.

Residents in Norman are paying $3.22 per gallon, compared to last year’s price of $3.19.

Despite the increase, the American Petroleum Institute still says the average price for gasoline should be 20 cents less than last year.

Experts say U.S. oil demand fell to its lowest level in 16 years in 2012 and local refineries are producing more.
