Guns, domestic violence in Okla.
We were interested in learning exactly how guns end up being used in the real world and in your own homes.
One study published on the National Institute of Health website analyzed all the shootings in one year from Memphis, Seattle and Galveston.
There were a total of 626 shootings in all three cities combined.
It found that for every time a gun in the home was used in a self-defense or legally justifiable shooting, there were four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicides and 11 attempted or completed suicides.
Lesley March from the Attorney General’s office, chief of victims’ services, talked with us about Oklahoma statistics concerning domestic violence and the use of firearms.
The victims’ services unit also wants to get the word out about Safeline.
