One study published on the National Institute of Health website analyzed all the shootings in one year from Memphis, Seattle and Galveston.

It found that for every time a gun in the home was used in a self-defense or legally justifiable shooting, there were four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicides and 11 attempted or completed suicides.
Lesley March from the Attorney General’s office, chief of victims’ services, talked with us about Oklahoma statistics concerning domestic violence and the use of firearms.
The victims’ services unit also wants to get the word out about Safeline.
