MWC mobile home park evacuated for gas leak
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – Portions of Edgewood Mobile Home Park had to be evacuated Monday morning.
“There was somebody back there with a back hoe and he was digging,” resident Connie Haynes said. “So he must have hit the line.”
She praised the park’s landlord for quick action.
She said as soon as the line busted, the landlord came to the door and told her to leave.
No one was hurt outside in the dangerous situation that had crews hard at work.
“Everything is underground so they don’t know where it’s all at, but you know, stuff happens,” Haynes said.
She’s not the only resident who said they felt relieved the scene didn’t get worse.
“Looking down there, you know, they warned people in enough time, so you know, gladly nobody set a spark off,” resident Roy Volk said.
It took crews about an hour to give the all clear.
