Woman arrested for stealing deodorant, makeup
OKLAHOMA CITY—Police say they have arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly trying to steal $16 worth of deodorant and makeup from a grocery store.
On Friday, authorities were called to the Crest grocery store on S. May regarding a disturbance call.
When officers arrived, they learned that workers had detained a woman who was allegedly trying to take items from the store without paying.
One of the workers said he saw 23-year-old Haley Jo Lay taking deodorant and makeup off the shelves and hiding it in the sleeve of her hoodie.
She tried to run away but was caught by workers and held in the office until police arrived.
Lay was arrested for larceny of merchandise and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.
