Baby dies after head-on accident

OKLAHOMA CITY – A child has died after an accident during a Monday morning commute.

Authorities say 20-year-old Maria Castro tried to avoid a rear-end collision near I-40 and Western by swerving into oncoming traffic.

She hit a car head-on.

Castro’s daughter, 8-month-old Sophia Brock died of injuries she sustained from the crash.

Three adults were also taken to the hospital.

One of the cars caught fire but a passenger put it out with a fire extinguisher.
