Officers injured in shootout with suspect, possibly Dorner
BIG BEAR, Calif.—Two officers have been hurt in a shootout with a suspect, who may be Christopher Dorner.
He is suspected of breaking into a couple’s home in Big Bear, tying them up and stealing their vehicle.
According to CNN, the man came upon a police roadblock.
Officials say he may be pinned down in the mountainous terrain, possibly inside a cabin.
The search turned to Big Bear after authorities discovered Dorner’s burned out truck in the area last week.
Dorner is wanted in the murders of three people, including a Los Angeles police officer.
The violent spree was in response to what he called unfair treatment by the police department after he was fired in 2009.
Since the killings began, authorities have received over 1,000 tips on Dorner’s whereabouts.
There had been speculation that Dorner could have crossed the border and made his way into Mexico.
