TULSA, Okla.—A man is dead after being shot by police during a standoff inside a Tulsa apartment complex.

Police rushed to the Coppermill Apartments after receiving a call from the man’s roommate.

He claimed that he had been forced out of their home by the suspect with a knife.

He also told authorities that he feared  his roommate was suicidal.

For hours, police negotiated with the suspect, trying to talk him out of the apartment.

When he finally emerged, the man came out onto his balcony and pointed a gun at police.

That is when an officer shot and killed the man.

Police later determined that the gun was actually a BB gun.

The man’s identity has not been released at this time.

The officer is on routine administrative leave while the shooting is being investigated.
