Concerns for consumers in American, US Airways merger
WASHINGTON – The possible merger between American Airlines and U.S. Airways is causing concern on Capitol Hill.
Lawmakers are trying to figure out if the merger would harm consumers.
Issues like the cost of flying, service routes and even the overall competitive health of the airlines industry were discussed during a house committee hearing.
Some said the deal is bad news for travelers who are likely to see higher rates, fewer seats and less competition in the market place.
