Bill arming teachers in school approved

OKLAHOMA CITY—A local House committee passed a bill Wednesday that would allow teachers to be armed in the classroom.

The Oklahoma House Public Safety Committee approved House Bill 1062 with a vote of 13 to 1.

The bill allows districts to arm teachers and administrators who undergo special training.

The measure now heads to the House Calendar Committee for further review.
