President Obama signs order to begin sequestration cuts
WASHINGTON, D.C. — All week we were told about it, and now it’s happened. Furloughs are coming to federal employees, among other things, as President Obama signed the order to begin over $85 billion in federal spending cuts Friday.
The President and Congress cold not reach a compromise Friday, and so the automatic, government-wide cuts. ”We will get through this,” Obama told reporters. “This is not going to be an apocalypse as some people have said. It’s just dumb and it’s going to hurt.”
