Red Cross tornado app keeps victims connected with family
The American Red Cross has launched a new app that hopes to keep you connected with your family in case of a tornado or other severe weather.
Organizers said tornado app users will be alerted to a tornado warning in their area with a message and a high-pitched siren.
Customers can access a toolkit with a strobe light and other features in case of a power outage or to alert rescue workers of your location.
Residents can also tell family and friends they are safe with the touch of a button.
Organizers said a one-touch button will send an ‘I’m Safe” message to family members.
The tornado app is designed for iPhones, iPads and Android smartphones and tablets.
