Dow hits new record high

NEW YORK—Stocks took quite a turn on Wall Street Tuesday as the Dow Jones industrial average hit a new record high.

The Dow hit 14,286.37, which tops the Dow’s intraday and closing records that were set in 2007.

The S&P 500 is also trading at its highest level since 2007.

Analysts say the S&P 500 is only 2 percent away from its record closing high.
