New hope for Okla. airport towers considered for closing
OKLAHOMA CITY – There is new hope for the Oklahoma air traffic control towers under consideration for closing at the end of the month.
Sen. Tom Coburn said he is outlining a plan that would save the jobs that would be lost of the towers closed.
In a statement, Sen. Coburn outlined the plan that would include canceling conference, freezing non-essential hiring and eliminating some low-priority programs in the FAA.
Sen. Coburn said he thinks it is a better plan than closing the towers.
