Deputies investigate drowning at Lake Eufaula
EUFALA, Okla.—Officials are investigating a drowning that claimed the life of a Sallisaw man.
Authorities say 58-year-old Gary Douglas Rogers went fishing on Lake Eufaula Sunday afternoon.
His family called police after he hadn’t been heard from since about 2 p.m. that afternoon.
McIntosh County and Haskell County deputies say they found Rogers and his fishing boat floating south of the Eufaula dam just before midnight.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into his death is still ongoing.
