CUSHING, Okla.—School safety took center stage Monday after officials in Cushing received threats concerning the town’s schools.

Extra police officers were placed on campus Monday.

The district’s superintendent says threats were made through a police internet tip-line against the middle school and high school.

Officers were not specific about the threats and said classes would go on with an increased police presence.
