Former suspect in Bethany teen’s murder in jail on unrelated charge
OKLAHOMA CITY – A man once a suspect in the brutal murder of a Bethany teenager will be spending time behind bars in an unrelated case.
Wednesday a judge sentenced Jimmy Massey to a 20-year suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to felony drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute and trafficking methamphetamine.
Massey will spend the first 10 years in prison and then spend the next 10 years on probation.
Massey and another man, Luis Ruis, were once suspected of killing 19-year-old Carina Saunders.
Those charges were dropped last month but they could be re-filed if more evidence of their involvement is found.
