Lockdowns lifted, bank robbery suspects on loose
MOORE, Okla. – Authorities are still searching for two Moore bank robbery suspects who are considered armed and dangerous.
The manhunt started at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday after the IBC Bank on the 900 block of S.W. 19th St. was robbed.
Four schools and a daycare in Moore were on lockdown until about 2:30 p.m. while authorities searched for suspects.
Briarwood Elementary, Oakridge, Plaza Towers, Southmoore High School and a nearby daycare took extra precautions.
“They got away but their vehicle was spotted at an apartment complex nearby,” Moore PD’s Jeremy Lewis said. “An officer saw the suspects flee on foot in different directions.”
The Fairways at Moore apartments were locked down for about six hours while authorities search for the suspects.
“We actually found a vehicle that belongs to the suspects in the parking lot of the apartment complex,” Lewis said.
The S.W.A.T. team moved in with full gear hoping to capture the men but the suspects are still at large.
Investigators said they believe the duo is connected to other recent bank robberies in the metro.
