Man sentenced for role in deputy’s robbery, shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY – A man has been sentenced Friday for his role in the shooting and robbery of an Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Deputy in 2011.

Keonta Prince, 20, has been sentenced to two life sentences and will spend at least 25 years behind bars.

Major John Waldenville was working off-duty in Stockyard City when two men ambushed him and shot Waldenville in the head.

Authorities said the men stole a deposit Maj. Waldenville was carrying.

Maj. Waldenville survived the shooting.

The man found guilty of pulling the trigger, 30-year-old Christopher Baker, was sentenced to life plus 30 years in Feb.
