Police arrest man at bus stop accused of rape
OKLAHOMA CITY – Police have a suspect in custody after a woman claimed she was raped over the weekend.
Authorities said 32-year-old Jarad Melton was arrested Saturday morning at the downtown bus stop.
Police said Melton broke into a woman’s home on S.E. 49th St. the day before.
The victim said she had a knife held to her throat while the suspect sexually assaulted her.
He then stole some electronics and other valuables before forcing the victim to drive to her bank and withdraw money.
The victim was eventually released by her attacker.
She was able to provide enough details on the suspect to lead police to the Melton.
