Suspect smashes 7/11 window for cigs

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are investigating the case of a armed robbery suspect caught in the act by a citizen passing by.

The 911 call came in about 2 a.m. Thursday when a caller reported an armed robbery in progress at the 7/11 in the 2800 block of NW 59th Street.

When police arrived they found the front window of the convenience store had been busted out.

According to police a suspect showed up to buy cigarettes, and when the store was closed he threw a rock through the window and helped himself to the tobacco.

Police caught up with the suspect down the road at NW 57th and Ross.

Police suspect the man may have been drinking.

He was arrested and booked into the county jail.
