Family survives Midwest City fire that claimed home
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – A fire has claimed a Midwest City home Thursday afternoon.
Authorities said a woman was home with her grandson when they spotted smoke coming out of a vent in their house near N.E. 18th St. and Post Rd.
The two ran outside to escape just as a neighbor was coming to warn them.
The grandmother said she moved in just last December.
Officials have not confirmed what caused the blaze but said it seems the first started in the air conditioning ducts.
