Thunder launches Rockets…again !
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Thunder moved to within two victories of advancing to the next round of the NBA Playoffs with a closer-than-expected 105-102 win over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night at “the Peake” downtown. The victory gives the Thunder a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 Western Conference postseason series. Game #3 will be Saturday night at 8:30pm CDT at the Toyota Center in Houston.
The Rockets hung tough with OKC in the first half Wednesday, trailing by only 2 points at the break. But the Thunder went on an 11-point run midway through the 3rd Qtr and extended that early in the final stanza in what appeared to be a repeat of the series opener, which the Thunder won by 29 points.
But Houston had other ideas. The Rockets ripped off a 16-0 run to turn a 15-point deficit into a 4-point lead with under 5-minutes to play…before the Thunder rolled once again.
Listen to Thunder head coach Scott Brooks, all-star point guard Russell Westbrook, Houston all-star James Harden the former Thunder star and OKC all-star forward Kevin Durant give their thoughts on the game as the teams prepare to head south for the next couple of games Saturday and next Monday night.
