Consumer Alert: Save on the costs of prom
It’s that time of year many parents dread… prom.
Teens are getting ready for the big event which means dresses, tuxes, hair and makeup.
A new survey shows families are paying for that right of passage.
After everything is said and done, that one single night could cost as much as $1,000.
The VISA survey showed, on average, families spent $1,200.
NBC’s Lewis Turner found a few ways you can save while shipping for that special night.
The survey also looked at what parts of the country spend the most money.
The Northeast came in on top with an average of $1,900 on prom.
The South followed spending a little more than $1,000 per family.
