Police chase burglary suspects through Mid-Del area
DEL CITY, Okla. – Del City police are searching for a pair of serial burglars.
The suspects bailed out of an SUV after leading police on a 10-minute pursuit through the rain-slicked streets of Del City Thursday.
Before the chase, police were called to a burglary near Reno and Howard.
A detective spotted a suspicious vehicle and tried to pull over the driver.
The suspects took off, reaching speeds up to 60 miles per hour.
Officials said the suspects tossed items from the SUV during the chase.
Del City Police Capt. Jody Suit said, “What they were throwing out were papers and sterling silver-type spoons and things that we believe were taken from a burglary in Del City, like they were trying to get rid of the evidence.”
Del City police said the suspects eventually fled on foot near Reno and Sooner Rd.
They are described as two men between the ages of 17 to 25 with slender builds.
Police said they think the men are responsible for at least four burglaries in the last few weeks.
