Prosecutors seeking death penalty in college murder
ADA, Okla. – Prosecutors there have announced they will be seeking the death penalty for an Asher teen charged with killing a college student.
Jerrod Murray, 18, is charged with first-degree murder in the Dec. 6 shooting of 18-year-old Generro Sanchez of Stuart.
Both were students at East Central University in Ada at the time.
According to court papers, Sanchez begged for his life before Murray shot him in the head twice.
Murray has pleaded not guilty.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday in a Pottawatomie County district court.
