OU back up quarterback arrested for public intox
NORMAN, Okla. – The Sooners’ back up quarterback Kendal Thompson was arrested for public intoxication early Friday morning.
According to Soonerscoop.com, the OU red shirt sophomore was arrested for public drunkenness and interfering with an officer just before 2 a.m.
Soonerscoop.com reported officers found 20-year-old Thompson asleep on a hill near an apartment complex on Stinson St.
Officers said in the report they smelled alcohol on the football player who is days from his 21 birthday.
Police woke Thompson and said he failed to follow their orders.
Senior Associate Athletic Director Kenny Mossman said, “We’re aware of the matter and it will be handled internally.”
Thompson is one of three competing for the starting quarterback slot this season, according to Soonerscoop.com.
