Sooners wrap up third straight trip to Women’s College World Series
Oklahoma’s top-ranked softball team left no doubt about returning to the Women’s College World Series.
The Sooners run-ruled Texas A&M 8-0 in five innings on Saturday in Norman to win the NCAA super regional two games to none, and earn their third straight berth in the World Series. Arizona transfer Shelby Pendley hit two home runs and drove in five of OU’s eight runs, and senior pitcher Keilani Ricketts tossed a 3-hitter, striking out seven to earn her 16th shutout of the season.
Oklahoma has outscored their opponents 59-8 in their five NCAA Tournament games. The Sooners will face Michigan in the first round of the WCWS on Thursday at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
