Moore Warren Theatre reopens after tornado
MOORE, Okla – A little over a week after the tornado devastated the area, the Warren Theatre is reopening its doors.
Tony Fleshman and his 3-year-old daughter Chloe were some of the first ones through.
His family lost their house in the tornado.
“I got three-and-a-half standing walls, no roof, no furniture, so we were displaced from it,” he said.
They may be displaced, but they’re thankful they all made it through without a scratch.
Now Tony is buying movie tickets to get his family away from all they’ve been through recently.
“I got tickets for me and my wife just to get away from it all and then also I bought tickets for my brother and his wife, too.”
With the Warren back open for business, some people said it’s a sign to the community that their lives are returning to normal after being turned upside down by the tornado.
“I think that helps the community,” Dan Gray with the Warren Theatre said. “That’s a big boost to them. Letting them know that the community is starting to get back to normal. That the devastation really didn’t slow things down a lot for them.”
Now people can once again count on a good movie and the tempting smell of popcorn in the air.
For families like Tony’s, that’s priceless.
“I love the Warren movie theaters,” he said. “Even if I moved out of Moore, I’d still be coming here to watch a movie.”
