Mother, baby killed in accident on I-40 during storm
MUSTANG, Okla. – A woman and her baby were killed on I-40 between El Reno and Yukon Friday evening, OHP trooper Betsy Randolph confirmed.
Randolph said the accident was on I-40 near the Mustang area.
“We try to tell people not to drive into the storm,” Randolph said. “And this may have been one of those deals where there was little or no notice or warning. It’s just so gut-wrenching and it’s so heartbreaking.”
Randolph confirmed multiple other crashes in Mustang, El Reno, Yukon, Oklahoma City, Moore and Norman.
OHP is stopping traffic on I-35 North and turning them around.
OHP is asking drivers to stay off roads if you don’t need to be on them, especailly I-35 and I-40.
The gridlock you are creating is keeping emergency crews from getting to victims who need their help.
