Fifteen deaths confirmed during May 31 tornadoes
EL RENO, YUKON — Fifteen people were confirmed dead by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office Saturday morning as a result of tornadoes tearing through El Reno and South Oklahoma City Friday afternoon and evening.
Amy Elliott with the state Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that nine fatalities have been confirmed, including two children and seven adults. The previous overall total was seven deaths. This includes the mother and baby who perished as their SUV was flipped on I-40 as the tornado went past them.
