Power outage concerns residents at senior living center
People at the Western Senior Community living center are at their wit’s end.
This elderly housing complex near 64th and Western hasn’t had power since Friday.
Many here already scraping by month by month as it is.
Now, Karen Carney is wondering where and how they will get essentials.
“I have nobody and there’s just nothing. I’m on a limited income. I’ll get my food stamps on the 10th but I had to throw all my food away.”
Carolyn Hall said she’s worried about herself and her neighbor, Ruby.
“She’s on oxygen and she’s in a wheelchair and she can’t go anywhere or do anything. There’s a lot of them in there that need the oxygen and they’re not getting it.”
We talked to the owners.
They said they don’t have any generators and things are getting desperate.
When they’ve contacted OG&E, the owners said, “They just say they’ll get to it.”
OG&E was dealing with 100,000 people without power.
They hope to have all power restored by Thursday.
OG&E told us that power had been restored to this Senior Community sometime Tuesday evening.
