Okla. man arrested for 35 counts of sex crimes against child
HARRAH, Okla. – The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of sexually abusing a child.
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Matthew Allen Riffel on complaints sexually abusing a young child in Harrah.
During their investigation, Riffel admitted to several crimes involving him taking sexual advantage of the child.
“This case is very troubling,” Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said. “This predator violated an innocent child. Fortunately, when the witness discovered what was happening, that person came forward and our deputies were able to get Riffel away from his victim and put him in jail.”
He admitted to taking pornographic pictures of the victim.
Riffel also admitted how he inappropriately touched and had sex with his victim.
Riffel is in the Oklahoma County Detention Center and is facing multiple complaints including:
*Possession of child pornography (5 counts)
*Lewd acts with a child under 16 (20 counts)
*Rape first degree (1 count)
*Rape by instrumentation (8 counts)
*Violation of computer crimes act (1 count)
Riffel is currently in the Oklahoma County jail, his bond has been set at $802,000.
