Big rooftop event coming to OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY – AIDS WALK OKC is painting the city RED with a swanky, new, rooftop event.
RED Rooftop 2013 will feature live entertainment, light appetizers, generous pours, a few surprises and the funky beats of DJ Reverend.
RED is the brainchild of AIDS Walk OKC board members, James Siderias, Scott Hines and Lisa Pitsiri.
They wanted to put on an affordable entertainment alternative that lets all sectors of the community contribute to an HIV cause in an upscale setting.
“We really want to cater to a larger demographic,” Siderias said. “So many people want to help the HIV community but they can’t afford to pay the price for tickets to some of the more well-known events. RED Rooftop 2013 gives people a chance to help and have a great time doing it.”
Area businesses have also been instrumental in making this event a reality. RED Sponsors include Johndrow Vineyards, John Cresap, Avery Cannon, Mood Party Rentals, Pole Zone & Aerial Fitness Studio, The Boom, Iguana Mexican Grill, Republic Gastro Pub & GOGO Sushi Express & Grill.
The RED Rooftop 2013 event kicks off at 8 p.m. at 1015 N. Broadway.
It’s a $10 cover when you RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or simply click “Going” on the official RED Facebook Invite. It’s $15 at the door.
All proceeds benefit AIDS Walk OKC.
AIDS Walk OKC is a non-profit that raises donations throughout the year to disburse via grants to organizations in our local community that provide support, services and treatment to individuals affected by HIV.
Over 95 percent of the money AIDS Walk raises goes back to the community and none of the board members are compensated.
