WAURIKA, Okla.– Authorities say a 12-year-old boy has drowned after going under the water in Waurika Lake.

Officials say 12-year-old Colton Dean Parnell was swimming in an undesignated area about 40 yards from the shore on Saturday night.

Witnesses reported seeing the boy go under the water but were unable to reach him.

Parnell came up twice then never resurfaced.

His body was found around 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday at Mitchell Point.

Authorities say he was not wearing a life-jacket when he went under.
