Miami Heat wins second straight NBA championship

MIAMI – The Miami Heat won their second straight NBA championship Thursday night.

They defeated the Spurs 95-88 in Game 7.

This was the 18th time in Finals history that a Game 7 decided the champion; the home team has won 14 of them.

The game was tight throughout.

Tim Duncan carried the Spurs with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Kawhi Leonard added 19 points and 16 rebounds.

The Heat got a solid game from Shane Battier; he was 6 for 8 from three-point range and finished with 18.

Dwyane Wade had another big game with 23 points.

But it was LeBron James who propelled the Heat to the 95-88 win.

He had 37 points and 12 rebounds and was named Finals MVP for the second straight season.

Miami repeats as champion and brings home the franchise’s third title.
