TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Zoo is getting ready to introduce their newest snow leopard, 7-week-old Niko, to the public.
Wildlife experts said only between 4,000 and 6,000 are left in the wild.
The little guy was born May 10 with two other cubs that both died.
One didn’t make it through birth, the other died because of a blood clot infection nine days after it was born.
The zoo is expected to break ground soon on a new snow leopard exhibit slated to open in 2015.
